We go where the fish are! We fish the nearshore waters along the coast and deep sea fishing up to 9 miles offshore!
On Captain Kenny’s nearshore, offshore, deep sea fishing trips we can venture up to 9 miles into the Gulf of Mexico for both deep sea bottom fishing and trolling. You will be fishing with Captain Kenny in Florida state waters, where fishing regulations and catch limits are considerably more relaxed than in the more restricted federal waters which begin beyond 9 nautical miles off Florida’s Gulf Coast. (Federal waters and its stricter fishing regulations begin beyond just 3 nautical miles off Florida’s Atlantic Coast and beyond just 3 nautical miles off the coasts of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana! We have a distinct advantage fishing offshore here in Pensacola!)
This far reaching 9 nautical mile range provides plenty of opportunities for exciting deep sea fishing on an offshore fishing charter with Captain Kenny and Panhandle Charters and Guide Service. Depending on conditions, time of year, what species are running hot and your preferences, we can fish near shore or do some deep sea fishing up to the 9 mile limit. Our goal is to provide you and your party the best fishing experience Pensacola has to offer.

Bottom Fishing and Trolling
Captain Kenny provides anglers opportunities for both bottom fishing and trolling on his Pensacola and Pensacola Beach offshore and nearshore fishing charters.
Trolling in the Gulf of Mexico

Trolling for large free swimming predator species offers some of the most exciting fishing you can experience on a deep sea fishing trip.
There is a wide variety of species we can target including Bonita (Little Tunny), Blackfin Tuna, Tarpon, Cobia, Kingfish (King Mackerel), Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, Sharks and even the occasional Wahoo and Dolphinfish (Mahi-Mahi).
Bottom Fishing Pensacola’s Offshore Artificial Reefs.
Every saltwater angler loves to bottom fish for Grouper, Snapper, Triggerfish and other bottom dwelling species when fishing offshore. Amberjacks can also be caught when fishing over the reefs. These hard fishing fish inhabit the waters over the reefs. Also known as reef donkeys due to their stubborn fighting nature, amberjacks are a favorite catch for anglers who love a good fight! Many other species inhabit these reefs including Sharks and Cobia!

Florida leads the nation in the creation of artificial reefs for great bottom fishing off its shores.
This system of artificial reefs has proven to be a huge success for recreational fishing across the state of Florida. Artificial reefs can be found off the shores of nearly every Florida county that borders the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico. Escambia and Santa Rosa counties (home to Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach and Perdido Key) have developed their own extensive systems of these highly productive man made reefs.
The reefs consist primarily of ship wrecks and discarded, long lasting concrete structures such as culverts, pilings and bridge platforms. They are delivered to carefully selected sites by the barge load from anywhere from less than a mile to over 30 miles off the Florida coast. The hard, irregular surfaces of these discarded structures and ship wrecks provide outstanding habitat for tiny, bottom dwelling sea creatures such as coral, shellfish and crustaceans all the way up the food chain to highly prized species such as the many varieties of grouper and snapper and even sharks, barracudas, cobia and amberjacks.
Not counting the accidental sinking of countless ships off the coast of Florida going back to Spanish colonial days, the purposeful sinking of ships off the coast of Florida began over 70 years ago with the sinking of US Navy target ships during World War II. In the 1970s, the creation of artificial reefs for fishing and diving began in earnest with the sinking of old barges and tugboats and even the sinking of the decommissioned US Naval Air Craft Carrier the USS Oriskany in 2006. The Oriskany is the world’s largest intentionally created artificial reef and lies 22 miles off the coast of Pensacola.
The coastal waters near Pensacola, including the waters off the coasts of Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach and Perdido Key, are home to abundant sea life and highly desirable fish species living on these man-made reefs. Captain Kenny Lewis has been fishing these artificial reefs near Pensacola for many years and is intimately familiar with the reefs and the many fish species that inhabit them. When bottom fishing on an offshore or nearshore charter with Captain Kenny, these reefs provide the best opportunities for great catches of everyone’s favorite bottom dwelling species.

Nearshore fishing, Offshore Deep Sea fishing, Bottom fishing or Trolling, Captain Kenny will always do his best to insure everyone has a great time!
